How Much Does a Plumbing Website Cost? Real 2026 Numbers

Most plumbing websites cost between $1,500 and $4,500 to build, and the honest range runs from free to well past $10,000. Here is what actually sets the price, what the market charges right now, and where we think most plumbers are overpaying.

The short answer, with real numbers

A DIY builder site costs $0 to $1,000 plus a monthly subscription. A freelancer or small agency typically charges $1,500 to $4,500, and a custom lead generation build runs $5,000 to $12,000 or more, per Built Right Digital's 2026 plumbing web design guide, as of August 2026. WebFX puts general agency builds even wider, at $3,000 to $30,000 and up, as of August 2026. (Curious about the general version of this question, beyond plumbing? We cover that in what a small business website costs.)

Those are the market rates. Here is the same table with our prices next to them, because we publish ours.

How it gets built Typical market price (as of August 2026) ZOOGABOOG! price
DIY builder (Wix, Squarespace) $0 to $1,000 of your time, plus $17 to $39 a month Not our thing, and honestly fine for some
Simple brochure site $1,500 to $4,500 (freelancer or small agency) $300 flat, or free through the Free Rebuild
Bigger business site $3,000 to $30,000+ (agency) $1,500 flat
Site with a store $5,000 to $12,000+ $3,500 flat
Ongoing hosting and upkeep $70 to $300+ a month combined Care plans $25 to $250 a month

Why plumbing websites cost so much less than agencies charge

A plumbing website is one of the simplest kinds of website there is, and that is a compliment. You need your services, your service area, your phone number where a thumb can tap it, real photos, and a contact form. No cart, no login, no booking engine unless you want one.

Agencies charge plumbing companies $5,000 and up because they bundle in strategy decks, stock photo hunts, and meetings about meetings. The site underneath is usually ten pages and a contact form. When someone quotes you five figures for that, you are paying for their process, not your website.

What actually drives the cost up

Page count, custom features, and ongoing services are the three real cost drivers. Everything else is packaging.

More pages cost more because each one takes writing and layout time. A ten page site with a page for every service and every town you serve costs more than a five page site, and it usually earns that money back in search traffic. Custom features like online booking, payment processing, or a customer portal move you from brochure pricing into business or store pricing at every shop, including ours. And ongoing services are where the quiet money is: hosting, security, updates, and edits, billed monthly. Market rate for hosting alone runs $20 to $100 a month, with maintenance adding $50 to $200 more, per Built Right Digital, as of August 2026. That is $70 to $300 a month before anyone touches your site.

Red flags when you are getting quotes

If you cannot get a price without a discovery call, walk. A brochure site for a plumbing company is not a mystery that needs discovering, and any shop that has built one before can tell you what it costs.

Watch for these:

  • No published pricing anywhere. They price you based on how you sound on the phone.
  • You do not own the site. Some builders keep the files, the hosting, and sometimes even your domain. Ask who owns what in writing before you pay.
  • A big build fee plus a big monthly fee. Pick one. Paying $4,000 up front and $200 a month forever means paying for the site twice.
  • "SEO included" with no specifics. Real search work is pages, speed, and listings. If they cannot say what they will do, they will not do much.
  • Long contracts. Twelve month minimums exist to protect them from your regret.

If you already have a site and are not sure whether it is helping or hurting, a free website checkup will tell you honestly.

What we charge, and why it is flat

Our brochure website is $300, a business site is $1,500, and a store is $3,500. Care plans run $25 to $250 a month depending on how much you want handled, and you can see every price published on our pricing page.

AI is part of how we get to $300, not a shortcut around the work. We use it the way we use any other tool in the shop, when it makes the work faster or better, and skip it when it does not. Most of the site is still made by hand. Real or stock photography, a person on the layout, a person building the pages that go live.

There is also a free path. If you are an independent plumbing company with a simple WordPress brochure site, the Free Rebuild means we rebuild your site free, you get 3 months free, then it is $100 a month, cancel any month. The files become yours free after 12 months, or you can buy them out for $900 any time. Your domain and content are always yours.

If you are choosing between doing it yourself and hiring somebody, we broke both down with real numbers: us next to Wix and us next to a managed agency like Hibu.

Plumbing website cost questions, answered

How much does a plumbing website cost per month?
If you build it once and pay for upkeep, expect $70 to $300 a month at market rates for hosting and maintenance combined, as of August 2026 per Built Right Digital. Our care plans run $25 to $250 a month, and the Free Rebuild is $100 a month flat after 3 free months.
Can I just build my own plumbing website on Wix?
Yes, and for a brand new one truck operation it can be a fine start. The tradeoffs are your time, a monthly subscription forever, and doing your own search setup, speed work, and updates. Most plumbers we meet started there and left when the site stopped keeping up.
Is a $5,000 plumbing website worth it?
Only if it comes with real ongoing marketing work behind it. The site itself, ten pages and a contact form, does not cost $5,000 to build no matter who builds it. Ask for an itemized quote and see how much of the number is the actual website.
What should a plumbing website include?
Your services, your service area, tap-to-call buttons, real photos of your crew and trucks, reviews, and a contact form. That is the whole list for most shops. Booking and payments are optional extras, not requirements.
Do I own my website when someone else builds it?
Not always, and you should never assume it. Ask three questions in writing: who owns the domain, who owns the content, and who owns the site files if you leave. With us, your domain and content are always yours, and the site files are yours free after 12 months or $900 any time before that.
